Spring Vacation

Dear Students,

I am hoping to live vicariously through you when it comes to spring vacation next week.  While I am looking forward to getting more sleep, much of next week will be busy grading amazing Middle Ages Zine projects and working on the Yeoman.  Then there is the "spring cleaning" I have been meaning to get to this month.

So please share with me your plans for next week weather they include traveling, visiting, gaming, sleeping, eating, shopping, vegging, or what else.  Please include the details of your hopes and plans.  Where will you be, who will be with you, and what will you be doing?  Why and how will it all happen?  Help me see what you will be up to, feel your excitement and emotions, hear the environment you will be doing this, and it something involves food - I want details!

This should be a paragraph in length and at least 5 sentences.  Yes, spelling and grammar counts.  No abbreviations and watch your capitalization.

I am looking forward to your responses!

Best wishes,
Mrs. Allan

  2. My plan for next week. My plane is to bring one of my friends to bend with me. I hope that it will be sunny when I am up there. I hope I get a chance to shoot guns and ride the ATV. But before I do that I hope my mom will stop at warm springs Kah-Nee-Ta. In Kah-Nee-Ta we will usually go swimming. When I come back I think I will probably hang out with my friends.

  3. For spring break I am excited to do the spring cleaning FOR my parents! I am going to enjoy my brother being home from OSU. My family is going to also have a big Easter Brunch. Maybe that is why the kids have to do all the cleaning. I personaly get to have three or four days of extra spring break because I am having my wisdom teeth removed the day school starts again.

  4. Heh, all I'm planning to do is sleep, hang out with friends a couple times, and see the Doctor Who S7Pt2 premiere. I know that I'll have to deal with family around Easter, but meh. I'll deal with that when it comes. Spring break is going to be a nice, long break that I can sleep through most of. I'm going to be lazy, and I'm going to enjoy it.

  5. My plan for spring break is to go camping. I am planning to go with some family friends up to KOA ( Kampgrounds Of America) in Astoria. My friends don't consider this camping since we sleep in cabins, there's a indoor swimming pool, and my personal favorite, Wifi. My parents still can't wrap their heads around the idea of why teenage girls, me and my sister to be exact, love wifi so much. I'm excited to leave the concrete jungle and just spend time outdoors. My least favorite part of this trip will be the care ride. To be honest, riding in a small crammed car with my family's isn't great (don't tell them i said that!). When i get back from this trip i will most likely sleep my way through the rest of the spring break. I hope you enjoy your spring break, i know i will!

  6. My plan for spring break is to enjoy my days off of school, and hangout with friends. I hope that there will be no big projects, or homework over spring break, and I will mostly be sleeping all day, so spring break might be very short. I cant wait for spring break and the vacation days that come.

  8. During spring break, I plan to celebrate that there is no school. I also plan to go to Sun River and ski. After that, I will hang out with my friends and sleep all day. When school starts again, I will be bummed and sad that I can't sleep in. I will enjoy the BREAK part of spring break.

  9. For Spring Break my family is going to Hawaii. We are going to Maui and staying there for 6 days. I really hope there is no homework because I don’t want to have to do homework while on vacation. On the couple days I have left when I get back, I plan to just relax and sleep in. I can’t wait for Spring Break!

  12. I’m extremely excited for the spring break next week. I finally get to relax and not walk too much. Usually I went to Canada for spring break every year, but this year I’m staying home. Reading is what I’m planning to do and sleep most of the time. I already did the spring cleaning since I had to do it before the Persian New Year. So I don’t really have too many things to do except reading and sleeping.

I am extremely excited for spring break! I’m going to be in three places; Eugene, Sunriver, and Lake Oswego. I take off on my adventure on Friday. I drive for a couple hours to Eugene. There, I will have a soccer tournament. This tournament is also a tryout to make the state soccer team. I have been preparing and am ready to do my best. On Sunday night, I head back home. I am going to sleep in for the next 3 days in Lake Oswego. Then, Wednesday afternoon, we head to Sunriver. Sunriver is supposed to snow a lot, which is great. It is even better for skiing Mt. Batchelor. I will most likely ski at least 3 days on Batchelor. This is going to be a great spring break, I’m excited.

  15. My plans for Spring Break are to stay home for a few days and we might go to Sun River, then come back home for Easter. If I go to Sun River I will go with my mom and my brother, Connor, and maybe my dog Biscuit. The weather in Sun River is cold enough to snow. We will play in the snow if it snows and stay inside or go shopping at the mall if it is not snowing. Also during Spring Break my plans are to sleep in and not do any homework, play video games, and be a vegetable.

  16. I can’t wait for Spring Break! I am extra excited because this year we are actually going somewhere warm. We decided to go to the Cayman Islands, which is in the Caribbean. The only minor downside is that the plane ride is twelve whole hours long. I hope I try new things and most importantly have fun with my family. I also know I am going to have a great Easter brunch in the Caribbean.
Have a nice spring break everyone!

  17. I am extremely looking forward to spring break. This finally means relaxation. That always means escaping from Lake Oswego. On Friday morning I will be getting up with my family to start the long car ride down to San Francisco. We will be visiting family and friends as well as going sightseeing. I can’t wait to take a walk over the Golden Gate Bridge and taking a tour of the Giant’s AT&T Park. We also plan on visiting Alcatraz, down town San Francisco, Stanford University, Cal Berkeley University and San José. I am looking forward to getting out in the sun and sleeping in. There will also be free time to relax and play. I am hoping for a nice long-lasting spring break.

  20. Spring Break has started! I finally get just one week to relax my body with zero homework weighing on my shoulders. It already feels great! For most of Spring Break I will be in Lake Oswego, but, I am going to Yakima, Washington for my cousin's dance competiton. I'm excited for that and hoping that she will do great! And, for the rest of the break, I'll go with the flow and see where the week takes me! I am thinking that it will include a lot of eggs (Easter)! I hope you have an amazing vacation during this rainy Spring Break!

  21. It's finally Spring Break and I get to relax! During my Spring Break, I am going to enjoy my time in Lake Oswego. I am going to stay up late and sleep in! I am going to hang out with my friends and visit different attractions in Oregon (If it doesn't rain). My family and I are also going to spend time with our family friends! Also, I am really excited for Easter! It's going to include a lot of eggs! If I have to describe how my Spring Break will be in a sentence, I would say, "It will be a fun-packed Spring Break!"

  22. I remember running out of school and everyone shouting it is Spring Break! I'm so excited! I get to go to Minneapolis to see my two cousins. They are a few years younger than me so I'm sure we'll have a blast but they are boys so I hope they're okay hanging with a girl. I also get to see my aunt and uncle and they are planning fun things for us to do especially because it's coming up on Easter! I'm sure this Spring Break is going to be a blast!

  23. I am so excited that it is Spring Break!!!!! I am going to Whistler, Canada, to ski with my family. The last time I was there, I was two years old, so this is the first time I am going to ski there! I am really excited, because I heard that it is one of the best places to ski in America! My friend told me that her brother went and had a lot of fun. I am very excited!

  24. This Spring Break, my family is taking things slow. We planned to go to Hawaii but have decided to move that to a week after the end of school. Our plans for this Spring break is to possibly go to Mt hood to ski/snowboard. I am also trying to convince my family to going racing at a go-kart place. I am hoping this spring break wouldn't turn out bad.

  27. During this year's Spring Break, I plan to enjoy staying at home. I am going nowhere, outside of town, and plan to spend my days reading, sleeping, and lounging around the house. This time of year, my parents always have a Spring Cleaning mood, so I dread the prospect of having everything moved from their usual place.

  29. This spring vacation I am looking forward to several things. First of all I am looking forward to not having school and not having to get up at absurd times for it. I am also looking forward to getting to go to Timberline lodge and get to ski, as well as skiing in general. Also it will be fun to see friends and just hang out.

  30. This spring break I visited Arizona and watched two spring training baeball games. I went with my brother Matt, my dad, my step mom, and my step brother Josh. Our hotel had a cool waterpark with a lazy river and a waterfall. There was also an 18 hole mini putt putt course that was lots of fun.I had an overall great spring break!

  31. This spring break I am visiting Salt Lake City, Utah. It is going to be a lot of fun because I get to see all of my family and old friends. It will be a terrible drive to Utah (12 straight hours there and then 12 hours back). However, on Saturday we will have an Easter egg hunt with all of my cousins. It will be so great to see them all. One of my cousins is planning to sleep over at my grandma's house with my brother and I. Also, my family plans to go to an exhibit in Park City that has art work all made of Lego. This will be so much fun! Though just seeing all the people I know and love will be even better than all the things I will do there. This is going to be a great spring break!

  32. Over spring break I went to Pasadena, CA. There I stayed at my Grandmother's house for five days. The weather was very nice and stayed above 70 the entire trip. My family spent half of Monday in the car and the other half swimming, unpacking, and getting ready for dinner. When we were ready we headed over to my family friend's house where we had dinner with them. I saw my "Uncle and Aunt,"(My parent's best friends,) and their kids Arrow and Rider. I also got to see two of my friends who are Arrow and Rider's cousins, Nick and Ryan. The next day I went shopping with my Mother and grandmother at Target. The Target in Pasadena is HUGE!I bought lots of cute clothing and shoes. When I got back I went swimming again and then watched The Sound of Music with my family. We then went to celebrate my Aunt's birthday with pizza. I spent Tuesday at Disneyland, Wednesday relaxing, Thursday was hanging out in the sun, and Friday I went for a bike ride. My family met up with another family from Portland. We went for a ride along Venice beach and then went to the Santa Monica pier with their son Finnegan. We only rode two rides, but it was still really fun. Saturday I had to go home. We drove in the car for 16 hours, and I was so happy to be home.About 2 hours after I got home I sat down with my dog and watched..... Wait for it.... DOCTOR WHO!!!! It was the first episode after a very long hiatus. I think I was screaming for an hour straight with all the excitement.Sunday I went to Claire Brown's house and we hung out and played Minecraft. Before that I had gone to my cousins house to celebrate Easter. It was a wonderful break and I am so glad to come back to such wonderful weather.

  33. For my Spring Vacation I went to the beach with Lottie Bauer and Julia Wolf. We started out by going to Cannon Beach to visit Haystack Rock. After we built sandcastles and went in the ocean, we decided that we wanted to have something to eat. We went to Mo's which is right next to the beach. After Mo's, we still felt like playing at the beach so we drove to Seaside to go in the ocean and play in the sand there. After we got tired enough it was around dinner time. We had sandwiches and ice cream for dinner. After dinner we walked through the town and arcade. It was one if the best doing breaks I ever had because I got to spend it with my friends and family.

  34. During Spring break you here of people going to amazing places around. Well I was at home the whole time. Since my birthday was on Easter, we did little fun things all week. Most nights my family and I would do something fun such as go bowling, golfing, archery, and lazer tag. On Friday we went to Cannon beach. At first it was a little windy and cold but it warmed up. While I was there I pretty much played volleyball the whole entire time. Then on Sunday we went to a park in Washington to celebrate Easter and my birthday. We also met some of my cousins there. We got to hide each others eggs which was fun for all the cousins except me because my youngest cousin just put my eggs in a thorn bush. But putting that to the side I had a great spring break.

  37. I went to Palm Springs for Spring Break. I got to spend most of my time at the pool and got a whole lot tanner. After endless hours at the pool my older brother Drew, met us in Palm Springs. The second day that Drew and my Dad went golfing my mom and I got to go to the spa. I enjoyed going to the s because I could relax and not have to think about homework or school. When we were together as a family we were hiking. I thought all of the hikes were very interesting but one was in the desert and had practically no shade. Since I have black hair...that was not a fun trip. We also got to go to dinner as a family of course, and we usually tried to find a place with TV's so we could watch a little bit of march madness. We even went to the place that supposedly has the most TV's in Palm Springs. I enjoyed Spring Break this year!

  39. I did not do much during Spring Break. Or at least not as much as I planned to do. I did do SOME things though. Things like watching some movies, biking, hanging out with my friends, etc. Some movies I watched were 'Olympus has fallen' and 'Skyfall'. I had a really fun time, and it was great to hang out with my friends that I haven't talked to in a long time. What was most fun is when we dressed up in the wierdest things we could find and run out in the road yelling "SAVE THE SQUIRRELS!". It was very fun.
